Description
Bishton, a parish in Monmouthshire, 1 1/2 mile E of Llanwern station on the South Wales section of the G.W.R., and 5 1/4 E by S of Newport, which is the post town; money order office, Magor; telegraph office, Maindee. Acreage, 1392; population, 166. The living is a vicarage, annexed to the rectory of Llanwern, in the diocese of Llandaff; joint gross value, £250 with residence. The church is small, and was restored in 1887. There is a Presbyterian Hall, which is used occasionally for religious services.
