Porthkerry, a parish in Glamorgan, on the coast, 2 miles W of Barry station on the Barry railway, and 10 SW of Cardiff. Post town, Barry, under Cardiff. It contains the hamlet of Rhoose, and comprises 967 acres of land and 102 of foreshore ; population of the civil parish, 145; of the ecclesiastical, with Barry, 910. Porthkerry Bouse is the chief residence. The living is a rectory, united with the rectory of Barry, in the diocese of Llandafi"; net value, £404 with residence. The church is good.
