Description
Peterston-super-Ely, a parish in Glamorgan, on the river Ely, 7 miles W of Cardiff. It has a station, called Peterston, on the South Wales section of the G.W.R., and a post and money order office under Cardiff; telegraph office, Bonvilston. Acreage, 2171; population of the civil parish, 285; of the ecclesiastical, 270. Remains exist of a castle of Fitzhamon. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Llandaff; net value, £212 with residence. The church is ancient, and was repaired in 1891.
