Llanychaiarn, Cardiganshire

Description
Llanychaiarn, a village and a parish in Cardiganshire. The village stands on the river Ystwyth, near the coast, 2 miles S of Aberystwyth, is a picturesque little place, and has a bridge across the river. Post town, Aberystwyth. The parish comprises 4060 acres, with 147 of adjacent foreshore; population, 471. A steep hill, near Chancery, commands a fine view of the valley of the Ystwyth. There are remains of an ancient castle. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of St David's; net value, £100. The church is dedicated to St Llwchaiarn. There is a Calvinistic Methodist chapel.
