Description
Llangwyfan, a parish in Anglesey, on the coast, 1 mile W of Aberffraw, and 3 1/2 WSW of Ty Croes station on the Chester and Holyhead section of the L. & N.W.R. Post town, Aberffraw, under Ty Croes (R.S.O.); telegraph office, Ty Croes. Acreage, 1669; population, 168. Limestone and marble are quarried. The living is a perpetual curacy, annexed to the rectory of Trefdraeth, in the diocese of Bangor. The church is dedicated to St Cwyfan, and is Early Perpendicular ; stands on a small island which is undergoing erosion by the sea; and, in consequence of the swamping of a narrow causeway which connected it with the mainland, has been abandoned.
