Description
Llangaffo, a parish and a village in Anglesey, 2 miles WSW of Gaerwen Junction station on the L. & N.W.R., and 4 1/2 S by W of Llangefni, with a post office under Gaerwen (B.S.O.); money order and telegraph office, Newborough. Acreage, 2533; population, 308. Bodwyrwas a mansion of the 16th century, but is now reduced to slight remains. The living is a perpetual curacy, annexed to the rectory of Llan-geinwen, in the diocese of Bangor. The church is dedicated to St Caffo, was rebuilt in 1845, and has a fine spire. There is an ancient cross. There are Congregational and Calvinistic Methodist chapels.
