- Three hundred more pages added
We have just finished adding another 300 or so descriptions from the Gazetteer of England and Wales, across all English counties and also Anglesey, Breconshire, and Carnarvonshire in Wales.
Over the next couple of days we will be making slight tweaks to the county pages to improve the layout slightly. This will involve moving the map over to the right of the page, and changing the flow of the descriptions.
- Completed phase three and loads of additions
Over the past couple of days we have loaded the final page layout changes of the new site design.
We have also added approximately 700 new descriptions to places in all English counties. This takes us to half way through adding descriptions of all parishes and places in England. We will be continuing with the rollout over the next couple of months until all are completed, including Wales. We will then be focussing on the Scottish pages to bring them to the same standard.
- Added church photographs
Today we added photographs of some of the Cornish churches to the relevant parish pages:
Breage, Cornelly, Creed, Crowan, Cuby, Germoe, and Gerrans. We also added a list of the rectors of Gerrans.
- Updated Welsh county pages
Today we updated the county index pages for Anglesey and Breconshire, and added extra descriptions for places in Breconshire
- More pages added
Today we added approximately 60 more place and parish descriptions to Herefordshire.
- New site design phase 2 launched.
Today we completed the second phase of the new site design and layout. This phase added a last modified date to each of the parish pages, and another 65 descriptions for parishes in Oxfordshire. The final phase will launch all remaining miscellaneous pages in the new format and add the modified date to the county index pages.
We have spent a lot of time deciding how best to provide the navigation facilities, and we hope you will find the new style cleaner and better laid out than before.
Over the coming months we will be adding new databases with lots of new content, so please check back regularly to see what is new.
