Description
Brearton, a village a township, and an ecclesiastical parish in Knaresborough and Ripley parishes, in the W. R. Yorkshire, 3 miles NW of Knaresborough station on the N.E.R. Post town, Ripley. Area of township, 1562 acres ; population, 130 ; of the ecclesiastical parish, 157. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Ripon; value, £200, in the gift of the Vicar of Knaresborough. The church was built in 1836 There is a Wesleyan chapel.
