Description
Barugh, a township and scattered village in Darton parish, W. R. Yorkshire, 2 miles NW of Barnsley, and 1 mile from Darton station on the Lancashire and Yorkshire railway. The township includes the hamlets of Gawber and Higham. The manufacture of linen is carried on here. It has a post office at Barugh Green under Barnsley. Acreage, 1437; population, 2752.
