Description
Barkston-Ash, a township in Sherburn parish, W. R. Yorkshire, 1 1/2 mile W of Church-Fenton station on the N.E.R., and 4 miles S of Tadcaster, which is the post town. Sherburn (1 1/2 mile) is the money order and telegraph office. Population, 276. There is a chapel of ease and a Wesleyan chapel here.
