Description
Eastham, a township and a parish in Worcestershire. The township lies on the river Teme, adjacent to the boundary with Salop, 1 1/4 mile S of Newnham Bridge station on the G.W.R., and 4 1/2 miles E by N of Tenbury. Post town and money order office, Tenbury; telegraph office, Newnham Bridge. Acreage, 2155; population, 321. The parish includes also the townships of Hanley William, Hanley Child, and Orleton. Acreage, 5057 ; population, 728. The living is a rectory, united with the rectory of Hanley William and the chapelries of Orleton and Hanley Child, in the diocese of Hereford; joint gross value, £934 with residence. The church has some Norman features. The chancel was restored in 1864 and the nave in 1890.
