Wanborough, a parish, with a village, in Wiltshire, 6 miles SE by E of Swindon station on the G.W.R. It has a post and money order office under Swindon; telegraph office, Stratton St Margaret. Acreage, 4514; population of the civil parish, 816; of the ecclesiastical, 838. There is a parish council consisting of eleven members. The manor belonged anciently to the St Amauds, and passed to the Lovells and others. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Gloucester and Bristol; net value, £230. Patrons, the Dean and Chapter of Winchester. The church is old, and has a tower at one end and a spire at the other; it was restored in 1880 and 1885. There are Wesleyan and Primitive Methodist chapels.
