Stockton, a parish in Wiltshire, 1 1/2 mile WNW of Wiley station on the G.W.R. Post town, Bath; money order and telegraph office, Codford St Mary. Acreage, 2122; population, 251. The Ridgeway traverses the S, and at Stockton Wood there are vestiges of a Roman station, on the site of an ancient British town. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Salisbury; net value, £175 with residence. The church was thoroughly restored in 1880. There are eight almshouses.
