Somerford Keynes, a parish in Wiltshire, 4 miles S from Cirencester market-town, and 3 from Kemble Junction on the G.W.R. Post town, Cricklade. Acreage, 2099; population, 269. There is a parish council consisting of five members. Under the Local Government Act, 1894, the adjoining parish of Shorncote was united to this parish. The livings of the vicarage and rectory were united in 1891. There are two churches, that of Somerford possesses an ancient Saxon doorway.
