Description
Homington, a parish in Wiltshire, on the Ebbele, a branch of the river Avon, 3 1/2 miles SSW by S of Salisbury station on the L. & S.W.R. Post town, Salisbury. Acreage, 1270; population of the civil parish, 220; of the ecclesiastical, 507. The parish now forms part of the united benefice of Coombe Bisset-with-Homington, which is a vicarage in the diocese of Salisbury; value, £240 with residence. Patron, the Bishop and Dean and Chapter of Sarum alternately. The church was restored in 1860.
