Description

Berwick-St-James, a parish in Wiltshire, on an affluent of the river Wiley, 2 1/2 miles NNW of Wishford station on the G.W.R., and 5 1/2 WSW of Amesbury. It has a post office under Salisbury; money order and telegraph office, Strewton. Acreage, 2497; population, 191. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Salisbury; net value, £61. Patron, Lord Ashburton. The church is Early English, has a Norman doorway, and is very good.
