Description
Shilton, a village and a parish in Warwickshire. The village stands near the Oxford Canal, 6 miles SSE of Nuneaton, and 6 NE of Coventry. It has a station on the Trent Valley branch of the L. & N.W.R. Post town, Coventry; money order and telegraph office, Bulkington. The parish comprises 1150 acres; population, 350. Ribbon-weaving is carried on. The living is a vicarage annexed to that of Anstey, in the diocese of Worcester. The church is of the 14th century. There is a Baptist chapel.
