Lea Marston, Warwickshire

Description
Lea Marston, a village and a parish in Warwickshire. The village stands on the river Tame, 1 1/2 mile NW of Whit-acre Junction station on the M.R., 3 miles N of Coleshill, and 10 E of Birmingham, and has a post office under Birmingham; money order and telegraph office. Water Orton. The parish contains also the hamlet of Marston, and comprises 1554 acres; population of the civil parish, 290; of the ecclesiastical, 276. The manor, with Hams Hall and most of the land, belongs to Lord Norton. Hams Hall, a large mansion situated in an extensive park, was partly destroyed by fire in 1890. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Worcester; the net value is, £210 with residence. Patron, Lord Norton. The church is ancient, stands embosomed in wood, has a tower, and contains monuments of the Adderleys.
