Description
Fetcham, a parish in Surrey, adjacent to the river Mole, and 1 1/2 mile W by S of Leatherhead stations on the L.B. & S.C.R. and the S.W.R. It has a post office under Leather-head ; money order and telegraph office, Leatherhead. Acreage, 1839; population of the civil parish, 526; of the ecclesiastical, 519. Fetcham Park is the seat of the Hankey family. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Winchester; net value, o£302 with residence. The church contains much Roman tile in its walls, has Norman and Transition Norman portions, and is in good condition. There are three alms-houses and a reading-room.
