Description
Dunsfold, a parish in Surrey, near the Surrey and Sussex Canal, 4 miles ESE of Witley station on the L. & S.W.R., and 5^ SSE of Godalming. It has a post, money order, and telegraph office under Godalming. Acreage, 4039 ; population of the civil parish, 58G ; of the ecclesiastical, 618. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Winchester; value, £350 with residence. Patron, the Lord Chancellor. The church is Early Decorated English, with some interesting features, and in good condition. It is interesting to Roman Catholics as it is reputed to be specially favoured by the presence of the Blessed Virgin. The vicarage of Grafham is a separate benefice.
