Yaxley, a parish in Suffolk, 1 1/2 mile E of Mellis, and 2 miles W of Eye station on the G.E.R. It has a post office under Eye; money order and telegraph office, Eye. Acreage, 1257; population, 335. Yaxley Hall is a Tudor mansion. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Norwich; gross value, £140 with residence. The church is an interesting flint and stone edifice in the Perpendicular style, with an embattled tower, and has been well restored.
