Ufford, Suffolk

Ufford, a parish, with a village, in Suffolk, 2 miles from Melton station on the G.E.R. It has a post office under Woodbridge; money order and telegraph office. Melton. Acreage, 1163; population of the civil parish, 532; of the ecclesiastical, 506. There is a parish council consisting of nine members. Ufford Place is a chief residence containing a valuable library of over 30,000 volumes. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Norwich; net value, £270 with residence. The church is a handsome building of flint in the Gothic style, and contains a magnificently carved font-cover.
