Description
Thorndon, a parish, with a village, in Suffolk, 3 miles S of Eye station on the G.E.R. It has a post office under Eye; money order and telegraph office. Eye. Acreage, 2723; population, 618. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Norwich; net value, £480 with residence. The church is a handsome building of flint in the Perpendicular style, with an embattled tower, and has been well restored. A reformatory school for boys was established in 1856.
