Stowlangtoft, a village and a parish in Suffolk, 2 1/2 miles SE of Ixworth, and 3 1/2 NE of Thurston station on the Bury and Ipswich section of the G.E.R. There is a post and telegraph office under Bury St Edmunds; money order office, Norton. Acreage, 1478; population, 177. The manor, with all the land, belongs to the Wilson family. Stowlang-toft Hall, a fine mansion of white brick in the Italian style, was once the seat of the antiquary Sir S. D'Ewes and of the Rawlinsons, and is now the seat of the Wilson family. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Ely; net value, £263 with residence. The church is of the 14th century, and is a fine building of flint in the Transition style between Early English and Decorated. It contains some fine oak carvings, two ancient marble monuments, and an alabaster reredos. All the windows are stained.
