Description
Stow Upland, a parish in Suffolk, suburban to Stowmarket, and containing Stowmarket railway station. It has a post office under Stowmarket; money order and telegraph office, Stowmarket. Acreage, 2886; population, 1240. Two ancient moated halls are now farmhouses. The parish many years ago was united to that of Stowmarket. Trinity chapelry was constituted in 1844, and the living of it is a vicarage in the diocese of Norwich; net value, £91 with residence. Patron, the Vicar of Stowmarket. The church was built in 1843, and is a building of white brick in the Early English style. There is a Congregational chapel.
