Description
Southolt, a village and a parish in Suffolk, 4 1/2 miles SE of Eye station on the G.E.R. Post town and money order and telegraph office, Eye. Acreage, 821; population, 152. The manor belongs to the Chenery family. The living is a perpetual curacy, annexed to Worlingworth. The church is an ancient building of flint and stone in the Early English style. There are town lands worth about £20 a year, and two commons together covering about 12 acres.
