Reydon, Suffolk

Description
Reydon, a parish, with a village, in Suffolk, 1 1/4 mile NW of Southwold station on the G.E.R., and 7 1/2 miles E by S of Halesworth. It has a post office under Wangford (R.S.O.); money order and telegraph office, Southwold. Acreage, 2729; population, 352. There is a parish council consisting of seven members. The manor belongs to the Earl of Strad-broke. Beydon Hall is a chief residence. The living is a vicarage, consolidated with Henham and Wangford, in the diocese of Norwich; joint net value, £160 with residence. Patron, the Earl of Stradbroke. The church is an ancient Gothic building of flint consisting of chancel, nave, S porch, and an embattled western tower with pinnacles. The interior was restored in 1876.
