Description
Ramsholt, a parish and scattered hamlet in Suffolk, on the river Deben, 7 miles SSE of Melton station on the G.E.R. Post, money order, and telegraph office, Alderton. Acreage, 1804; population, 157. The manor belongs to Lord Rendlesham. The living is a perpetual curacy, held with Bawdsey, in the diocese of Norwich. The church, a small and unpretending building of stone, old style, has an ancient oval tower attached, of Roman origin.
