Lackford, a village and a parish in Suffolk, near the river Lark, 3 1/2 miles N of Saxham station on the G.E.R., and 5 1/2 NW of Bury St Edmunds, with a post, money order, and telegraph office under Bury St Edmunds. Acreage, 2338; population, 193. The lord of the manor is sole landowner. There are rabbit warrens. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Ely; net value, £216 with residence. The church is an ancient structure of stone and flint, chiefly in the Norman style. It contains an octagonal font, with enriched panels of foliage of the time of Edward I.
