Herringswell, a village and a parish in Suffolk, on a branch of the river Lark, near the boundary with Cambridgeshire, 2 1/2 miles NNE from Rennet station on the G.E.R., and 3 1/2 S from MildenhalL Post town and money order office, Mildenhall (S.O.); telegraph office, Rennet. Acreage, 2242; population, 200. Herringswell House is a chief residence. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Ely; net value, £245 with residence. The church, rebuilt in 1869-70, is a building of flint in the Early English style.
