Hemingstone, Suffolk

Hemingstone, a village and a parish in Suffolk, 3 miles NE from Claydon station on the G.E.E., 4 SW from Needham Market station, and 6 1/4 N by W from Ipswich. There is a post office under Needham Market; money order and telegraph office, Coddenham. The parish adjoins Shrubland Park, one of the seats of Lord de Saumerez. Acreage, 1449; population, 279. Hemingstone Hall is a brick Tudor edifice of 1625. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Norwich in the gift of Lady de Saumerez. The church is an ancient Gothic building of stone and flint.
