Description
Falkenham, a village and a parish in Suffolk, on the W side of the estuary of the Deben, 3 1/2 miles SE from Orwell station on the G.E.R., and 8 S from Woodbridge. Post town, Ipswich; money order office, Trinity St Martin; telegraph office, Walton. Acreage, 1739 of land and 165 of tidal water; population, 258. A portion of the soil is marsh land. Coprolites are found here. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Norwich; gross value, £331 with residence. Patron, the Lord Chancellor. The church is a building of flint and brick in the Decorated style, and there is a Congregational chapel.
