Drinkstone, a parish in Suffolk, 2 1/2 miles SSW of Elms-well station on the G.E.R., and 6 WNW of Stowmarket. It lias a post office under Bury-St-Edmunds ; money order and telegraph office, Woolpit. Acreage, 2196 ; population, 396. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Ely; gross yearly value, £485 with residence. The church is ancient, and lias a tower. Drinkstone Park, the seat of the Powell family, is a fine mansion situated in a beautiful park of 250 acres. Drinkstone House is a chief residence.
