Description
Dalham, a village and a parish in Suffolk, 3 1/2 miles S from Higham station on the G.E.R., and 5^ E by S of Newmarket. The parish contains the hamlet of Dunstall Green, and has a post and telegraph office under Newmarket; money order office, Gazeley. Acreage, 2098 ; population, 364. Dalham Hall was built in 1705 by Bishop Patrick, and is now the seat of the Affleck family. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Ely; net yearly value, £264 with residence. The church is a building of flint, chiefly of the Perpendicular period.
