Combs, Suffolk

Description
Combs, a parish and a village in Suffolk, on the river Orwell, 2 miles S from Stowmarket station on the G.E.R., with a post, money order, and telegraph office under Stowmarket. Acreage, 2822 ; population, 1184. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Norwich ; net yearly value, £284, in the gift of trustees of the late Earl of Ashburnham. The church is an ancient building of flint in the Early English and Decorated styles. There are large tanning and leather works here.
