Description
Coker, West, a parish in Somerset, 2 1/4 miles from Sutton Bingham station on the L. & S.W.R., and 3 W by S of Yeovil. It has a post, money order, and telegraph office under Yeovil. Acreage, 1419; population, 892. West Coker House, Westlake, and Brotherton, are the chief residences. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Bath and Wells; value, £392 with residence. The church is Later English. There are a Wcsleyan chapel and a working men's reading-room. Twine is manufactured.
