Seavington St Mary, a village and a parish in Somerset. The village stands 3 miles E of Ilminster station on the G.W.R., and, with Seavington St Michael, has a post office, of the name of Seavington, under Ilminster; money order and telegraph office, South Petherton. The parish includes the tithing of Seavington Abbott, and comprises 1106 acres; population, 269. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Bath and Wells; net value, £90 with residence. Patron, the Dean and Chapter of Bristol. The church is Early English, and has been restored. There are Bible Christian and Wesleyan chapels. The hamlet of Hurcot was added to the parish of Seavington in 1875.
