It consists of cottages near the railway station called " Street on the Fosse," and Pylle Itself with church, manor, and a few houses, which are 1 mile from the station. Acreage of parish, 1117 ; population, 243. The manor belongs to Lord Portman. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Bath and Wells; net value, £110 with residence. Patron, Lord Portman. The church consists of nave, transept, and chancel, with porch and tower; it was rebuilt in 1868 by Lord Portman. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
