Pawlett, a village and a parish in Somerset. The village stands on the river Parret, 1 mile from Dunball station on the G.W.R., and 4 miles N of Bridgwater. It has a post office under Bridgwater; money order and telegraph office, Dunball. Acreage of parish, 3108; population, 483. There is a parish council consisting of five members. The manor belongs to Lord De Mauley. Fairs are held on the last Monday in Aug. and Oct., and there are some extensive brickworks in the parish. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Bath and Wells; net value, £230 with residence. Patron, the Lord Chancellor. The church is ancient, and has a tower. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
