Cricket St Thomas, a parish in Somerset, 5 1/2 miles W by S of Crewkeme, and 3 1/4 from Chard station on the G.W.R. Post town, Chard; money order office, Winsham ; telegraph office, Chard. Acreage, 722; population, 90. Cricket Lodge,. rebuilt about 1799, and situated in a romantic dell, is the seat of Viscount Bridport. The living is a rectory, annexed to the vicarage of Winsham, in the diocese of Bath and Wells ;. joint net value, £265 with residence. Joint patrons, Viscount Bridport and the Bishop of Worcester. The church consists of nave, chancel, and transept on the south side of the nave. There is a bell turret. The church has monuments to the first Lord Bridport and to Earl Nelson.
