Chedzoy, Somerset

Chedzoy, a parish in Somerset, 3 miles E by N of Bridge-water station on the G.W.R. It has a post office under Bridgewater. Acreage, 1519; population, 315. Ancient coins and other relics have been found. Fairfax had his headquarters here when besieging Bridgewater. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Bath and Wells; value, £403 with residence. The church is old but good. Bishop Nikke and A, Pascal were rectors.
