Description

Ansford or Almsford, a parish in Somerset, 1/2 a mile from Castle Cary station on the G.W.R. Post town, Castle Cary, which is the money order and telegraph office. Acreage, 841; population, 309. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Bath and Wells; gross value, £320. The church was restored in 1861, at a cost of about £1000, and in 1889 an organ was presented by the rector.
