Rotherfield Peppard, a parish in Oxfordshire, 3 1/2 miles W by S of Henley station on the G.W.R. Post town, Henley-on-Thames. Acreage, 2194; population of the civil parish, 453; of the ecclesiastical, 424. There is a parish council consisting of six members. The manor belonged in the 13th century to W. Pipard, and passed to the Botelers, the Draytons, and others, and after belonging to the Camoys family for generations it is now in possession of the Gardiners.. Blount Court is a square mansion of stone and brick, standing in a well-wooded park about 32 acres in extent. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Oxford; net value, £361 with residence. Patron, Jesus College, Oxford. The church is a small but ancient building of flint and stone of the Norman period, consisting of chancel, nave, N aisle, and S porch. It has some good memorial windows, and an ancient cup-shaped Norman font. There is a Congregational chapel.
