Lyneham, a hamlet and a township in the civil parish of Milton-under-Wychwood, Oxfordshire, on the river Evenlode, 4 1/4 miles SW of Chipping Norton, and 2 N by W from Shipton station on the G.W.R. Post town, Chipping Norton; money order office, Milton-under-Wychwood; telegraph office, Shipton station. Acreage of township, 1943; population, 192. A schoolroom is here, and is used as a chapel of ease, and there is also a Methodist chapel.
