Scarrington, a parish, with a village, in Notts, 1 1/2 mile NNW of Aslockton station on the G.N.R., and 2 1/2 miles NE by E of Bingham. Post town and money order office, Aslockton ; telegraph office, Bingham. Acreage, 932; population of the civil parish, 203; of the ecclesiastical, 561. The living is a vicarage, united with Aslockton, in the diocese of Southwell; net value, £298 with residence. Patrons, the Dean and Chapter of Lincoln. The church consists of chancel, nave, aisle, and tower with spire. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
