Description
Kilvington, a village and a parish in Notts, on the Devon, at the boundary with Leicestershire, 3 miles from Eiton station on the G.N.R., and 7 S of Newark. The parish includes part of the hamlet of Alverton, and its post town is Orston, under Nottingham. Acreage, 493; population, 49. The manor belongs to the Duke of Portland. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Southwell; gross value, £95 with residence. The church is modern, and was built in 1854.
