Description
Grove, a village and a parish in Notts, 3 miles SE of East Retford town and railway station. Post town, Retford. Acreage, 1325; population, 157. The manor, with Grove Hall, belongs to the Harcourt-Vernons. There are traces of a Roman camp. The living is a rectory, in the diocese of Sonthwell; net value, £163 with residence. The church was entirely rebuilt in 1882, and has a western tower with spire, and some memorial windows. There are several small charities.
