Description
Cossall, a village and township in the parish of Wollaton and Cossall, Notts, at the boundary with Derbyshire, on the Erewash river, canal, and railway, 1 1/2 mile ENE of Ilkeeton station on the M.R., and 6 1/2 miles WNW of Nottingham. The township includes the hamlet of Cossall-Marsh, and its post and money order office is Ilkeston Junction, under Nottingham; telegraph office, Ilkeston. Acreage, 987; population, 829. The living is annexed to the rectory of Wollaton, in the diocese of Southwell; joint net value, £670, with residence. Patron, Lord Middleton.
