Description
Welton, a township in Ovingham parish, Northumberland, near the Roman Wall, 3 miles from Prndhoe station on the N.E.R., and 9 ENE of Hexham. Post town and money order and telegraph office, Stocksfield (R.S.O.) Acreage, 1145 of land and 59 of water; population, 50. The reservoirs for the supply of water to Newcastle-on-Tyne are partly in this township.
