Wellhaugh, Northumberland

Description
Wellhaugh, a township in Falstone parish, Northumberland, 9 miles WNW of Bellingham, and I mile from Falstone station on the North British railway. Post town and money order and telegraph office, Falstone (R.8.0.) The township comprises the hamlets of Ridge End, Stannersburn, and Yarrow. Acreage, 33,576 of land and 229 of water; population, 250. The Duke of Northumberland is lord of the manor. The moors abound in game, and there are several shooting boxes in the neighbourhood. A handsome bridge over the North Tyne connects this township with Falstone.
